Description: I became fascinated by the kelp beds when I lived in Monterey in 1984. A friend of mine, Norm Lyons, a professor at the Naval Post Graduate School, used to describe his scuba diving experiences off the Monterey coast. I went back to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium and felt compelled to do a kelp art series.
